I purchased the Jeep from a gentleman in the UK. He brought in 2 and sold me the CJ-2A. He originally bought both Jeeps from a lady in California. Her dad owned these Jeeps from new and used them on his farm in California, and when he passed away they put the Jeeps in storage (hence the fantastic patina).
When the Jeep arrived it was running. I then stripped her down and began cleaning and listing what I needed. I did get some spares from Sweden as it worked out cheaper on the tax. Most of my spares came from Kaiser Willys. I polished up the body and clearcoated it. There was a couple of rusty spots which I treated. I sandblasted the chassis and axles primed and sprayed. The differentials were in mint condition so I didn’t need to replace anything with the exception of the 2 front inner seals. On the engine, I resleeved her to 0.20 where she was at before. The old pistons were miked and still in good condition so new rings, bearings, head studs and bolts, valves, valve springs and full gasket set. Main gearbox I cleaned up and replaced bearings and seals only. It too was in mint condition. The same I did with the transfer case. I then assembled her up and she’s a great runner now. Can’t wait to do a road trip. The original mileage when I got her was on 33715 on the clock and the clock was working. I did manage to find the original owners daughter who did give me a brief history on the Jeep.

Awesome restore. I was wanting to scroll to the finish product right away to see if you left the original look. GREAT, GREAT restoration. As I paged thru your pics I thought that you were going to fully repaint the exterior. Your finished CJ is truly a great find and something you should be very proud of your work.
