First vehicle I bought with my wife of 32 years. We had saved up $1200 dollars for our moving expenses after college. I found this Jeep in Cheyenne, Wyoming for $800.00 and my wife said yes! The battery was dead, no seats and I needed to drive I80 over the Summit in a 40mph vehicle that I could not let die! All the while riding on a 5 gallon bucket while driving in a snow storm and it was getting dark and I had no lights! Just my newlywed wife following me with hazard lights. We were almost to Laramie and the wind ripped open my soft top door, I reach to close it and there is a Wyoming highway patrol passing me….he shook his head and I exited to Laramie! That was the beginning of my love affair with this jeep/and my wife!

  1. Patrick,
A really good story, and experiences similar to my life with Jeeps, first a 1950 M-38 and then a 1956 CJ-5. I have now had the CJ-5 since 1960. A life of wonderful memories!
