This 1962 Willys Truck was for sale at our local Ford dealership when we went there for an inspection. Turned out to be a project given up on. Most of the truck was there in boxes in the cab with the fenders in the bed. It was the first vehicle I had ever painted. I lost my brother, during the restoration, to a car accident in his classic car and this project really kept me focused on something. It has the Tornado engine and I drive it all around our farm, to town, and the river to go fishing. It is the most capable off-road truck I have ever owned. I am currently restoring a 1962 6-226 Wagon and hope to have fun in it soon.

  1. Hi Kyle. I’m restoring a ’63 pickup with the Tornado engine. I hope to be finished in the next 12 months, which is what I said last year. I”m in MA. What state are you In? If close I would love to visit to study your finished project and see your wagon as well. Mark

  3. You did a really nice job, Kyle, it is beautiful. Nothing beats a good ol’ Jeep.
Had a 60’s Jeep pickup in this style once with the OHC ( Over Head Cam) engine, powerful, but a bit thirsty on gas. It was a rugged truck though, awesome!!
