I restored my Willys M38A1 as a tribute to the Navy. I’m a Vietnam Vet and we did 2 tours over there. Was home ported at Pearl Harbor. You can see the name of my ship and hull number. It has been in parades and car shows. I have a military trailer also, so the kids can ride in parades. It’s a fun vehicle and always draws attention.

Go Navy! Way to go Ross very well done. Despite my heavy leaning Marine Corps, I love that Battle Ship Navy Gray Paint. I have a M606 1962 Navy Jeep on deck as well as a 1944 Navy MB to be restored after my campaign. My 606 will be done as you did for one of the many ships I served on. I was depolyed with the 11th Expeditionary Unit to the Pacific on board the USS Ogden LPD-5. I will make the Jeep Navy Gray USN but label her Marine Detachment Mssg-11 for our Marine Unit designation during that deployment. I think I will make the 1944 Jeep a memorial to USS Tang, that famous Sub with an incredible story of survival and war service.

Your Jeep looks fantatstic, thank you for getting her out there and showing it for all to enjoy and for getting kids involved in the parades.
Thank you for your service in the Navy brother, I really enjoyed my time at sea.

Your restored Jeep looks great. Thank you for your NAVY service. Dad was a fire control plank owner on DE 331- USS Koiner. Also a WWII Edsall Class Destroyer Escort like yours. Dad was a Jeep guy, and we have great memories with his 1950. Shalom, Bill Hughes- Simpsonville, SC

Nice restoration, looks real sharp for a CJ5. Yes I mean CJ5. How did it get turned into a 6 volt system. M38A1’s are a 24 volt and CJ5’s are 12 volt.
I like the navy paint job. Having a battery kill switch is a smart way to stop electrical problems and getting the jeep ripped off. Very nice.
