I had always wanted to rebuild a vehicle; with no experience and and even less money I decided on an old rusty Jeep. It took me 18 months of blood, sweat, tears and fair amount of what my grandfather called vocabulary enhancers, but it’s now done. I named it “War Pig” (the name of my gun truck in Iraq) and made the bumper number the same as my ODA. For those not familiar, the USBD stands for the disciplinary barracks at Ft Leavenworth. It’s always cool to drive a piece of Americana on such an old and storied base and without the help of the guys at Kaiser Willys, I never would have finished it!!

  1. It’s actually a 48 CJ2a. I added the light guards a (homemade) 1919 mount for the passenger, and the black out drive to make it look like the M38.

Had a ton of fun building it, and it’s a blast to drive around.
