Paul Kiefer's 1963 FC-170

This is my mechanically restored 1963 FC-170 that was found in a field in Seneca, KS. The frame had been cut and the geometry was all wrong. An FC Junkie in Defiance, MO had a frame from a 1958 that was in good shape and sold it to me. The project took about two years changing parts over as I rebuilt each component. It has a GM one wire alternator, electronic ignition, and electric fuel pump – the FC runs sweet! I assumed I would be able to find a stake bed for this FC truck, but a guy in a wrecking yard in Crane, IN said he had not seen one in 25 years, they had all rusted out. I had the original dimensions so I welded one up – it came out pretty good. You have to get a little creative sometimes!
