This 1951 Willys CJ-3A kind of fell in my lap last year. I had not done a restoration before and a friend’s neighbor who was moving sold it to me. I spent the last year working on what I first thought was going to be more of a replace than restore. But to my surprise, the mechanical parts were in better shape than I thought – and with a lot of welding, the body came back to life as well. I kept everything stock, short of the steering column and the original L-134 putts along pretty well. All the work was done in my garage including the paint (anvil grey with Caterpillar yellow wheels) but relied on help from friends – and especially the resources like Kaiser Willys with the wealth of info on forums. We’re now enjoying the afternoon drives around the Pacific Northwest.

Good looking pic. Giving me some ideas. I got a 1952 M38 and going to star rebuilding it this winter. I notice that all the jeeps haven’t got locking hubs. The one that i got has. Is this good or a bad thing.
