I recently sold my CJ-5 as I wanted another flat fender. I bought one that was supposed to have been “ready to drive”. You all know how that goes!!! Ha! So after a complete rebuild by myself and a newly rebuilt transmission from Kaiser Willys it’s ready to go. It also has the factory PTO but no attachment. It was registered in the state of Pa. as a tractor so I did a dual wheel conversion hoping to pick up some equipment for the back. My restoration started as a “finished” Willys that was just masked with paint over rust. My goal and passion was to bring this girl back to life.

  1. This beyond neat! It truly is “One of a Kind”! We had a Jeep meet in Marengo,Ohio
several years back that brought out several of these type of Agri Jeeps. Because
this was mostly a military jeep show there at first was mixed feelings at the
arrival of these different variants of the jeep! Turned out to be a blast! Nicest
jeepers out there! I like the Half cab! Very tastefully done! Bravo on a beautiful jeep

  3. This is an ironic sight!
Ive been trying to find a set of dual wheel adapters?
Also Im trying to find out what fenders?
Are the just Bantam trailer fenders?
If you are able to ask the builder and post or email it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  9. Hi!!
I am new to restoration and have a 1960 Willy Wagon survivor with bad (replaceable) rear Quarter panels. Wanted to do a dually refit.

The transmission seems strong as is the Super Hurricane il6 engine.
Im trying to find the best way do this:
    • Does the rear axle need upgrading?
    • What type of wheel is best for the dually conversion?
    • Where would I even start to source the wheels?
    • What are the potential pitfalls associated with going to dual rear tires (other than widening the fenders)?

    Thanks! Stay COVID-free!!

That is a really cool unit.If you have the manual for Jeep Approved Special Equipment it talks about the dually CJs. I remember as kid the power company was installing natural gas in the entire town. They had the dually CJ-5s with trenchers. They are pictured on CJ5 duallys in that book. That is a really nice job!!

  13. Great job on your restoration!
However I have a question, I am currently designing wheel spacers for my FC-150. I would like to know the spacing you selected between the tire sidewalls (closest point between the tires).
    Thank you.

  17. I too have a dually CJ-2A. Got it from my grandfather, I’m the second owner. I know nothing of the dually set up. I thought it was a Jeep optional kit to buy. Do you have any knowledge of the history of the dually?
    Thanks
