At the end of March, several months before retiring from pastoral ministry, a member of my church brought in the 47’ CJ-2A that was total rusted away. It sat outside, unprotected without being started since 1977 and asked if I wanted to buy it. He had purchased it from the original owner (Ohio) in 1958. I said yes, and for the next 10 weeks in our church’s car repair garage, myself and two other men from my church restored the Willys as our Corona Virus Project for my retirement fun and adventures. The Willys Project brought each of us, who were already good friends, a lot closer. Now in Florida the Willys is almost, an everyday drive to different places of fun.

Great looking jeep, and great story. I will say that my Jeep has been a blessing in my life, too. It’s been an invigorating, wholesome stress reliever after spending the rest of my day behind a desk. I’ve worked with all four of my family members on one project or another in the past year, and we all agree it definitely been a welcome diversion during Covid sheltering, when our home became the “extent” of our world for a while. Thank you sharing, Rachel and KW.
