Having been a regular attendee of the annual Graves Mountain Military Vehicle Rally in Syria, Virginia, I was thrilled to have an opportunity to buy a Jeep and finally participate. Not being very mechanically inclined, the Willys M38A1 was the perfect teaching aid. I bought this Jeep in 2018, it has taught me a lot and been a fun project. My M38A1 was made in September 1952, the original for the Army, but by 1965 it was transferred to the Marine Corps. Retired from military service in 1981 it was purchased by Jim Henry Truck Sales in Albemarle, NC and eventually sold to a private owner.

  1. Great looking M38A1. I’ve got a 64 contract Jeep. It left the Corps and went to the Silverton Colorado Sheriff’s dept and was used as a CD vehicle. I got mine and it is still painte blue and white but it’s still od in the engine bay.
