I found this Canadian made CJ-5 listed on EBAY in San Jon, NM. It was rough but all original and it was rust free and it had the dauntless V6. I trailered her back to Ft Worth, TX and then in Dec 2018, I shipped her off to Mark Altschuler in Sandy Valley, NV for a complete frame off restoration. I got her back about six months later and with the expert help of Mike @ Mikes Off Road in Haltom City, it runs like a top. When I registered it in Texas the DMV folks said the Jeep was previously registered in Texas from 1967-1997. I believe its remaining time was spent in New Mexico. I had intended to keep the original color of Indian Ceramic but the paint shop couldn’t find the color so I chose this red and I think it was a good choice. I added the hubcaps to dress her up a bit.

nice job on the restoration. What year is this CJ-5. I have a 1971 Jeespter Commando (C-101), with the Dauntless V6, being rebuilt at present.

I had a CJ-5 with the Canadian 6V engine 1977 model Bordeuax red. The jeeps looks good with the hubcaps. The truth about the Jeep is that is doesnt have to be in 4 wheel traction mode all the time. Disloging of the front gearbox will allow for a longer life and smooth runs on the road. Offroad is a different story if using all four. The front wheels can be fitted with gearlocks and put into position when driving with four wheels on rough terrain. Reason I say this is that the caps do not allow for the locks to be placed. Look good or be practical? In any case fine work Jeep looks great.
