81 yrs. old ex owner of bodyshop. This is my restoration report of the Willy. This Willys served in the Belgian army as a commando radio vehicle. Has since been used on farms as a tractor. Later bought by an enthusiast who has started restoring, but due to illness he only got to the technique and then everything stood still for 6 years. He did, however, have a new engine unplaced. We have only replaced all gaskets to the engine. The body was in poor condition, we considered a new body, given the extra cost we have waived that and have restored the body. We bought instruments and other technical parts at Kaiser Willys, these are not for sale in Holland. We have the knowledge of body repair in-house (50 years of experience). We made, set and beat all the body parts ourselves, including installing the upholstery of the seats. We are very happy with the results. The repair took us approx. 1000 hours.

  1. If the darn fools would not put wood in the hat channels underneath the body or treat the wood with moisture repellents there would not be so much acceleration of the rusting.

  3. Good evening Cees,
a message from Lelystad…. and for You no explanation to let You know where I am living.
All well, You did a great job; have fun with a real Willys (JEEP)
    greetings,

  5. Is Kaiser Willys in the Fiat concern? Do the parts for my CJ 3B have Fiat markings and are to Fiat standards(quality)?
Thanks in advance for your answers:

  7. I have two 1941 Willys I want to sell! One is in great shape and one needs some work. Bodies are in great condition! How much do you think they are worth? I just don’t want to get cheated! My military husband had these for 50 years

  9. Restoring a Willy’s is a rewarding hobby, although it seems like a simple vehicle, it takes a lot of knowledge and perseverance to make something beautiful out of it. Especially if you still have to deal with, for example, a crooked chassis.
enjoyed working on these Willy’s for two years. He has had a hard life but can now serve as a show horse for the next 70 years.
