Meet Willy Wonko. I married a ’59 Willys Wagon to a 88 Ford Bronco chassis & drive train. This Frankenstein was 35 years in the making. I had been sitting on the ’59 Willys for 30+ years when I decided that rather than try to upgrade a chassis that had been poorly modified to fit a chevy motor, that I would I would pull the body off of the Willys and mount it on a Bronco that had a good chassis & drive train but bad body. It took about 3 years to do. With the help of a fabricator to make body mounts. I had the 5 liter engine rebuilt with a small cam, put in a complete new wiring harness, gauges, a Ron Davis custom radiator and recovered the seats. The 1st pic is from my and the Willys 60th birthday the day before I retired and about a month after I got Willy Wonco on the road. I still have more work to put in, weather seals, headliner, and bumpers but it and my ’47 CJ-2A, in the last pic, keep me busy in my retirement.
