099: Dan Miller’s 1962 Willys Panel Delivery Wagon

This is my 1962 Willys Panel Delivery Wagon. Still running its original engine (75,000 miles) without any rebuild so far. My jeep was originally a Canadian government vehicle kept at a remote Vancouver Island location to provide access to a air navigation site located on a small mountain. Four wheel drive was essential especially in winter months. I had the pleasure of driving up that hill to service the electronics for many years.

Ten years after my transfer I tracked down my old jeep and bought it. That was thirty years ago. We celebrated my Willys 60th birthday this year. It’s been a big part of many good times. Now we’re looking forward to camping trips with the grand children.

  1. Spent many hours driving Dan’s Willys in its previous life, and know the shape it was in when he acquired it. Great restoration job – it’s beautiful!

  3. I am currently restoring a 1954 station wagon – Second owner, 59,000 miles, original, 4 wheel drive

This one looks great – good luck
