668: George Saponari’s 1948 Willys CJ-2A

These are photos of my frame-off restoration of my 1948 CJ-2A. The Jeep was completely restored on a brand new frame and body. The engine is original, but completely rebuilt along with a completely rebuilt original transmission and additional Saturn overdrive installed. The entire electrical harness’ were replaced. The new paint job ran about $19,000 with all of the manufacturing spot welding dimples removed and body parts fitted. The parking light connections were re-manufactured to include turn signals. This project spanned over eight years and I am almost done.

  1. George, it has been a long journey for you and your jeep. I am glad to see your project is almost complete. I can’t wait to hit some car shows together. Great job, my friend!
