636: David Badami’s 1952 Willys M38
I have owned my M38 for a little over a year. I purchased it pretty much just the way you see it from a man outside of Hartford, CT who restored it to its current condition. It has been converted to 12 volt and does not have the original engine any longer, but still runs a 134 ci flathead 4 from a donor Jeep.
I have added seat belts since I do drive her around town with my kids and the family dog. I do my own basic maintenance and it has been a lot of fun learning how to take care of her. I buy almost all of my parts from Kaiser Willys. This vehicle is my 6th or 7th Jeep, but my first flat fender. It never fails to put a smile on my face, has generated dozens of conversations with total strangers, and will be the vehicle my kids will learn to drive in.
