578: David Crosby’s 1946 Willys CJ-2A

Here are some photos of fixing up my 46 CJ-2A. Starting my Jeep journey with my first old vehicle. Having a blast driving it around my small town with my family and slowly fixing it up.

  1. David, congratulations on your excellent work and for leaving your CJ-2A a CJ-2A. It seems so many folks destroy a legend to make a modern freak, of which many are beautiful, but destroyed a legend.
We have a 1946 CJ-2A that my parents bought new and we still drive it, in the summer! LOL I was in the military for thirty years so Jeep had some relatively easy years and I’ve rebuilt (ring job & grinding valves and such) a few times and left it completely stock. Still 6Volts and original engine and such.
My Papa was a country doctor in south Missouri in the 1940’s and the roads were not even graveled so he got the first four-wheel drive vehicle he could.
Again, congratulations on your excellent work and the very best of luck! Idaho Joe + critters
