471: Robert Boni’s 1953 Willys Truck

My truck will be a re-creation of a similar one, a wrecker with a snow plow, owned by my uncle when he owned a service station where I pumped gas, as a kid, on weekends, when it is finished. I bought this truck with a 350 Chevy engine and a 4spd trans and transfer case from a GMC pickup. The cab is from a later model truck. Loving the transformation! Lots of work being done by my very capable son.

  1. Very cool. I had a friend in Idaho Falls, Idaho who had an old Willys with a snow plow for his gas station as well. I think it was the cab-over version but very cool looking. Growing up on our ranch in southern Idaho we had a ’62 Willys pickup for the hired man to drive. That is the vehicle I learned to drive with, manual 3 speed transmission. They are rock solid.
