450: Gökhan LOKMANOĞLU’s Willys Jeep
Not a classic restoration but a real fun machine. I am a mech engineer around mid 40s. For over 20 years I was an extreme enthusiast of Bimmers – mainly E32s and E34s. Still own a B11 3.2 Alpina.

This year I bought this custom built M38 from a well known offroad legend and Jeep builder/modification master in Turkey. The body is of 1949 but the chassis and drive train are modified 1978 CJ-5 platform. The engine is slightly modified AMC 232 6 inline and I am in the stage of installing a 390 CFM 4bbl Edelbrock carburetor and new intake manifold to match. It has already a remarkable 0-60 mph performance due to transmission gear ratio selections but will be wilder after carb change.
I mostly like to ride it on the beach – if not spinning tires on the asphalt.

dear Gökhan
Commendable work, just an observation, your body has never been M38.
It is a civil body.
the magnificent M38 has important differences
in all his soul, which by the way is amphibious.
I invite you to google the last of the wonders of low hood.

Fun ride !!
I like what you have done with it. I need to get a winch like that !!
DRAGO is right.
Looks like an M38 / CJ3A windshield, but not sure about the rest of the body – you said 1949, so possibly CJ-2A?.
Good times.
