340: Doug Maxson’s 1954 Willys CJ-3B

The short story on the Willys is it was sitting along a farmers hay field for 31 years and never moved. It had sunk into the ground almost up to the axles. The farmer would not sell it to me “it is a good Jeep”. Months later he decided to sell it to me for $1000 which was way more than it was worth to me. Months later still, he decided to give me the Jeep and actually delivered it to my house. He is now as proud of it as I am. It has been 2 years in the build to this point and I still have the top to do.
