How to install your Willys Jeep (Military MB or GPW) Rear Bumper – Part of an ongoing “Jeep” disassembly and restoration series sponsored by Kaiser Willys.
To install the rear bumper or crossmember, simply align it to the frame rail, securing it with the proper hardware. You may choose to use bolts for this installation; however if you desire to keep your vehicle as close to original as possible, you will want to use rivets instead. Give your hardware one last check for tightness. Next, locate the rear crossmember support plate and align it to the rear bumper and reinforcement “V” bracket. Next, attach the support plate securely using the proper bolts or rivets.
