I had been looking for an older Willys Jeep for a few months and saw the prices for them unrestored. I actually came across this Jeep last April on Ebay and said “what the heck, I will make a last minute bid”. A week later it was at my home. Still looked good, but had a lot of electrical problems. I started working with the horn and proceeded through all the switches and wiring on the dash. Luckily I am a small guy. There is no room to look or really see what you are doing behind the dash. Got all them working. Added a few other switches of my own, got the brake and turn signal lights working. I am just picking at it here and there. I plan to redo the brakes and some steering components this winter. The CJ-2A runs great and I get a lot of looks driving it.

  1. My first Jeep was a 2’A also. If you want better brakes you can add a hydravac vacuum booster from the early fords or I think chrysler products. Otherwise swap entire brakes from the backing plates out from the utility wagons, wagoneers, or commandos. Most people just did not adjust the eccentrics the right directions and lost a lot of braking power because of it. I envy you your vehicle. Dave Jones

  3. Nice looking guy,,,they also have disk kits you can add on these. but should keep it as original possible. I’ve done several,,one thing you can do is replace the clutch and break connectors with Heim joints,,,may have some pic of mine. Love the black and chrome. Where abouts do you live?
