We have had lots of fun with our little 1964 CJ-3B fixing odds and ends and learning a lot along the way. Anytime I stop by a family gathering all the kids swamp the Jeep and ask for a ride in it. They often ask things like “What is it? How fast can it go? or Can I see the engine?”. I always love showing them the basics of old motors and they will point something like the oil filter and ask “whats that?” On occasion they will stump me on a question and I realize I still have lots to learn about this old girl for many fun years to come and that is the whole beauty of it.

  1. I also have a 64 CJ3b that my dad bought in 1965. I learned to drive in that jeep and have had it since 1973 when my folks upgraded to a Wagoneer. It was originally red, but i had it painted blue. I drove it as a daily driver until 1989, when I bought a Wagoneer. Now it is a grandkid favorite to go “jeeping”. I have also started teaching my older grandkids to drive in it.

  2. I’m looking for an old post about an M38 Army Jeep that was actually in Korea and France that belonged to Don Boyd from Gun Barrel City, Texas. I met Don and his wife at a car show that I was aloso entered in . After Don and his wifes passing, Don’s family offered to sell the jeep to Don and his wife’s neighbor, Larry who helped Don restore this jeep. I met Larry and his wife Diane yesterday when they were taking Willie out for a Sunday afternoon drive. I am looking for a blog about this jeep from years ago. It was probably sent by Larry and I am pretty sure that I responded to it. It would be very much appreciated if ya’ll could find the time to find this for me and email to me. Thank you, Donny Perkins
