My 1953 Willys M38A1 – A Great American Workhorse

I bought my 1953 M38A1 two years ago, after researching for a good buy for four years. I learned how to drive in a 1953 CJ-5 my father had as a business vehicle when he worked for a bank. He traveled throughout the country making farm loans and had to drive to very remote places, climbing mountains, fording rivers, etc. I went with him on many trips and this imprinted the value of a great workhorse. 

While I was in the US Air Force in Europe, I drove an M38A1 to many isolated posts. It wasn’t a difficult choice to know what vehicle I valued and appreciated more, and to keep it as a tribute to my father, and other great life experiences. My M38A1 is dedicated to the 101^st Airborne Screaming Eagles, many members whom I met while in Vietnam so it has their markings.
