This August of 1942 Willys MB was left in Scotland after the war, as far as I can tell. I bought it in Ireland last year. This has been a family restoration with parts from Kaiser Willys, eBay and Italy. She is gonna be a real beauty, and one of a very small number based in Ireland.

Hello from the States! Excellent work on your vehicle and so glad to see it is “restored” and NOT “modified” as we so often see. From what I have seen too many of our people take an old Jeep and “destroy a legend” to create a “freak” with some huge engine and such. Congratulations on your excellent efforts.
When I was three in 1946 I was with my parents when they purchased a CJ-2A which I still drive, in nice weather. It has earned its position to be babied a bit. It was always a “work” vehicle and when my father had a carpentry or plumbing project the hood was the work bench, or, the flat fenders.
We did notice the brew atop your windshield and it looks good!!! Best of luck and, again, congratulations!

That is a wonderful looking Jeep. I can imagine it being a wonderful vehicle to drive around over there.
In 1952-1953 my Dad was in the U.S. Air Force military (air) police stationed at an air base near Edinburgh. As he put it, there were worse ways to serve during the Korean War. Anyway, somewhere I have a picture of him and “his” WWII MB that was repainted strata blue when the Air Force took over.
I look at your Jeep, the siren, and your story and can’t help but wonder what the history of that jeep is, and who all has looked after it.

I love this Wily Jeep CJ-2A. I first saw it in 1945, when the British came back to Malaya. I was eleven then. We have a special name for this Jeep – “budak buas” or busy boy. The rest of the Military vehicles were his uncle, cousin, grandfather and grandma. The plane B24 was his grandma.
Today, I have a Suzuki Jeep, a pattern similar to CJ-2A. however, it is only 850cc. quite good traveling on rough roads and climbing hill 25 degrees gradians.
