I have owned this 1954 Willys CJ-3B since 1977, best investment I could have made as a 20 year old! A few years later I met a girl and we would go 4 wheeling with friends. The girl in my Willys as I crossed a local river with is the girl I eventually married and I’m still married to her. Back in the early 2000’s she asked me “what are you going to do with that old rusted jeep?” I told her that I loved her.. but the Willys was here to stay. That put the bug in my ear to start working on a restoration so the body was removed and sent out for new panels while I started on the frame and drive train. It took a few years but in 2013 I had it running again and just this year painted the rims white. Right now I’m happy with my Willys, it turns a lot of heads when I cruise down main street, and I get a lot of thumbs up from newer Jeeps.

Great story Rachel and your Jeep looks great!
Almost the same story as mine- bought my ’51 Willys M-38 in the spring of 1977, the year after graduating from high school and still have him!
Kids all learned to drive a stick shift in “The Old Jeep”. One of these days I’ll have to post a few pictures too..

I purchase my 53 CJ3B back in 1970 when I returned from VN. I put it in my marriage creed 8 years later when I married my wife, and I still have both of them. Right now, it is being restored for the 2nd time and can’t wait to get it back on the road.

Nice job. There is something special about how they make you feel when you turn the key and they fire off. Restoring jeeps are cheaper than divorces but jeeps can’t hit you with cold feet in the sac. You better keep them both.

Looks great. I just purchased a 1954 Jeep Willy CJ3B and engine needs some slight adjustment ????????
I’m trying to get some guidance on the engine and transmission rebuilt if you have time. I enjoy driving around the neighborhood and county roads but doesn’t have the ../\.. ??? to drive it on the highway up to 50mph.

I would be interested in any information you have on the paint color. I have a ’53 that is green and would like to repainted it. The color you chose looks very close to my original color. Thanks

Beautiful jeep. The CJ3B is a great vehicle.
I own a CJ3A and in a process of getting it ready for the road, now that I finally have some free time to work on it. Can you let me know the size and brand of the tires on your jeep. I still have the original rims on my jeep.
Thanks,
Pierre
