Stuart Brown's 1964 CJ-6

168: Stuart Brown’s 1964 CJ-6 Jeep

My Jeep’s story isn’t all that special, I just found it sitting in a field out in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada a couple summers ago. I knew I wanted a Jeep for a long time and I would prefer a Willys because I like old vehicles but I didn’t think it would be very likely to find one but sure enough, there she was. I went back a week later and took it for a test drive around the farmer’s field and drove it home that day. I have been restoring it bit by bit because I believe it deserves it. It has been slowly becoming a “celebrity icon” in my home town, Vernon, British Columbia, as “the Bugmobile” of “The Bug Guys”. I am very proud of my CJ-6. It is great to watch people turn, point, wave and smile as I drive by. I can’t go anywhere without somebody asking me about it. I’m hoping it will stay in my family for many years to come and continue bringing people joy and making memories.

  1. Nice buddy! 😉
Stuart is my Nephew and I’m not ashamed to say I’m more than a little jealous that he found this jeep not me..
    Cheers

  3. Just read your story this afternoon. On the way home I stopped off at the hardware store and there parked out front was your jeep. Spent a few minutes looking her over. Pretty cool. What’s funny is I live in Armstrong where you found your CJ6 and I too own a CJ6 (1960). Would be interesting to swap stories one day.

    Happy trails!

  5. Al,
Am I correct to assume your CJ-6 is red and has a full canvas top on it because if so I have seen it and have taken some pictures haha. It’s so funny that a couple of such rare vehicles live so close to each other.
