About 20 years ago I found this Jeep in a barn in Ohio. It was all original and hadn’t been molested. Worked hard on a farm, but not changed from stock. 3 years of restoring every original part I could by hand, I had a beautiful VEC! The VEC’s were the first CJ-2A’s that rolled down the line with left over MB bodies, noted by the side indents for shovel and ax. They also had a 3-on-the tree shifter. I did tons of research to try to make this 2A as original and accurate as possible. When I had it finished, I took a bunch of pictures and posted them online to try and help others find reference of what was accurate for the era. Since I restored most everything from non-changed stock, it was easier to duplicate. Google ‘flatfenderwilly CJ2A images.’ Posted on Flickr a long time ago…
Enjoyed it for a time, but it was perfect, so I’d freak when my kids and their friends would climb on it…
Sold it to a collector in Utah… hated to part with it, but it will stay perfect in my mind!

Looking for, Willys Jeep Parts, Willys Jeep replacement parts, Willys Jeep body parts and much more for your 1941-1971 Willys vehicle, you have come to the right place!

This early CJ (green with yellow wheels) is very good looking and appears perfect!. I am in possession of a 1945 CJ2-A with the VIN tag on the driver’s side of the frame just behind the front bumper. The poor old Willys is very rough and a rational person would not restore it. The steering column shows remnants of a “three on the tree” shifting apparatus however the T-90-A transmission currently has a cane floor shifter. However the rear axel is the early type which makes sense as the V.I.N is 10011 indicating that it is the 11th CJ2-A manufactured. It has a “Super Sonic” Kaiser rebuilt engine under the hood which would not be correct. I do have the correct engine which should have a timing chain driven camshaft. what was the year and manufacture V.I.N. on the beautiful green CJ?
