My 1946 Willys CJ-2A was stored in a barn when I bought it. It had been sitting for several years and had many parts missing or needed replaced. The mice got the wiring and sitting for nearly 15 years the tires, hoses and gas tank were replaced. A good tune-up and oil change, she was back on the road. A recent maintenance restoration and the need for parts to make her roadworthy again was possible through kaiserwillys.com. I restored the Jeep as a tribute to the US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service and “Smokey Bear”. Smokey was created in the 1944 as a campaign mascot in the prevention of forest fires. Smokey recently celebrated his 76th birthday. We are planning on using the Jeep in parades and visiting parks promoting Smokey’s theme “Only you can prevent wildfires”.
