This Willys Jeep is a 1946 CJ-2A. I won the bid on e-bay in July of 2020. I had a wonderful trip from Ohio to Georgia and purchased her from a very impressive individual who was a military vehicle collector. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in my starting the restoration. I quickly became addicted and what better way to quarantine from covid than to stay in the shop. I am an aircraft maintenance instructor, but I respect the Jeep as much as my favorite airplane. The CJ-2A was the first civilian Jeep for the USA, but the 46-48 CJ’s made their way to Israel and became part of the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) nick named “Samson’s Little Foxes” and fought in their war of independence, hence the IDF emblem near the front fender. I also chose to personalize my CJ because of my belief and faith in God. The tie to John 3:16 is because Jesus was an Israeli and he won the victory for our souls on Calvary. We know the Jeep replaced the troops on horseback (The Cavalry). Calvary Vs Cavalry a play on words but interesting enough, Revelation 19:11 says Christ will return on a war horse. The Jeep is a historic iconic vehicle and a symbol of freedom. I would like to thank Kaiser Willys, they were the main source for parts for the resurrection of this CJ-2A. The restoration process is as much fun as driving this piece of history and I would love to do it again.
