I found this 1947 Willys CJ-2A in a suburb of Buenos Aires. It was pretty rough, but the original L134 engine and factory 4WD were present, which is a rarity in Argentina. I first thought I could do a little work to it and use it on the ranch “as is”, but reliability problems led me to a complete nut and bolt restoration. While parts for Pickups and Wagons built under license, and the 2WD IKA (Industria Kaiser Argentina) are available, parts for USA built export CJ-2A’s are hard to find. I brought suitcases full of Kaiser Willys parts to Argentina over several trips to complete the restoration. Now, it is the perfect vehicle for my little ranch on the Pampa.

My first one was a ‘2A, I wish that I could have another one just like it!
