We’ve owned our 1959 FC-150 (Serial #: 65548-20556) for 40 years, but just recently took it out of the garage for the first time in 23 years. We’ve flushed the engine and replaced the and thermostat and tires and cleaned the carb with spray carb cleaner. It starts great, but will go about 100 yards and loses power. It will idle without incident for as long as you want to let it idle, but put it in gear and run it for a ways and it loses power and stalls. After about 10 minutes it will start fine. My dad bought it for me 40 years ago to haul my snowmobile but I relocated to another state until returning 10 years ago. I just got around to running it again. I love this vehicle, but I don’t know why it won’t run on the road for longer than a couple of hundred yards.
