468: Harry Stahle’s 1963 Willys Station Wagon
The Willys was found in a used car “flea market” in Colombia, Bogota December 10, 2017. I decided to restore it in Colombia, before taking it home to Doral, FL. The Willys was registered in Colombia in 1966 and it has been in the same family until I bought it. The Wagon was used as a 2-wheel drive work truck. It has a full floating rear axle, 16″ wheels, big brake booster and roof rack for additional cargo. Restoring has been a slow process and the Tornado 230 engine has got the most attention while being a very sensitive engine. Now it is almost ready for everyday use.

Looking for, Willys Jeep Parts, Willys Jeep replacement parts, Willys Jeep body parts and much more for your 1941-1971 Willys vehicle, you have come to the right place!

Thank you for sharing this unique vehicle. I recognize the body to be a delivery sedan with the windows cut into the side panels. These differ from the station wagons, as they are not recessed into the side panels and the rear fenders remained the same rounded fenders as the early 1948 bodies. I own a ’64 of the same style. I hope someday to have mine looking as good as yours does.

Nice to see another 1963. I’m working on one right now. A resto-mod with a shortened 1989 K1500 chassis and drivetrain. I would to talk to you about the work you have done. Hope mine comes out as nice as yours!

Dear C. Shorey,
Thank you for your attention to my Willys, very much appreciated.
I have also nice fotos from interior if you would like to see.
My serious plan is to drive it through Central America this coming summer up to my home to Doral, FL.
It will be 4000 miles trip with lot of excitement. I have still time to test drive it in Colombian mountains to be sure that all will work as planned. So far after approx 1000 miles it works fine and is a pleasure to drive

That is a real nice Willys. I’m glad you didn’t rape it for the skin to put on a chevy. Thanks for letting us view your real Willys.

Dear Ron Rowland, feeling sorry to reply so late, but if you would like to know more in detail what is done to my Willys, please let me know.
It is interesting what C.Shorey mentioned about panel deliveries which has barn doors at back and rounded rear fenders. In reference to side windows, mine are recessed to side panels, not cut to side panels, and I have also seen other fotos where they are recessed. I know that all Willys documents indicate panel deliveries having side panels without recess, but mine looks very original, or during the years someone has done a good work. Thanks to Kaiser Willys Auto Supply to get parts needed and being able to get it done so far.
