DAUNTLESS is the name of this little Jeep. We call it Dauntless because it was my late brother’s nickname. Dauntless also happened to be the name of the V6 engine that Jeep installed in these vehicles. Dauntless started out on a Ranch in Brawley CA. It was a work vehicle and it appears that if something broke it was removed and discarded. This little Jeep was just about used up when it went to Bob who spent almost $10,000 replacing the entire drive train and a new long block with a new four barrel carburetor, brakes, radiator etc. It was used as a fun vehicle romping through the dunes of Arizona where he has a property. Also running along the beach in Encinitas and margaritas at sunset. But with the advent of all terrain vehicles, they had no more use for poor Dauntless so he put it up for sale on Craig’s list where we lucked into picking it up. We have started replacing the cosmetic stuff that went away over the years plus sanding the body and painting it to keep the rust in check. This will be a work in progress for quite a long time is suspect.
