I’ve wanted an antique vehicle my whole life, but didn’t really have the time and finances to make the dream a reality when the kids were younger. But at age 57, I found myself in a position to start looking. I was searching for an old pick-up truck, but couldn’t find anything that spoke to me and said, “Adopt Me!” That’s when I stumbled upon this 1946 Willys CJ-2A.
I don’t have a strong automotive background, but I am learning, with the help of the folks at KW. In the year since I’ve owned her, I’ve given her a new head gasket, new brakes, master cylinder, brake lines, spare tire mount, and much more! I’ve learned about dumb left-threaded wheel studs the hard way and learned how previous owners used nails when cotter pins were unavailable. 🤣She’s a lot of work, but has been a lot of fun!

Love this awesome story! What an awe-inspiring and fantastic experience. Thanks for sharing.
She’s a beautiful specimen and stellar restoration.
I just have one question. Yellow wheels on the front and spare, but not on the rear. Can you share why?
