I’ve wanted a Willys Jeep as long as I can remember; when I was small, I made my dad follow a nice MB with a “For Sale” sign in the back for 20 miles. When it finally turned into a driveway, I disappointedly found out it was about $15,000 more than my dad was willing to pay. So when I found this 1959 CJ-5 a few years ago, I knew it wasn’t my World War Two dream jeep, but it was a chance for me to learn about jeeps and have fun driving. I didn’t grow up working on cars, but always wanted to learn how. Looking at the simplicity of my new F-head engine, I knew this was something I could learn on. Fortunately though, nothing too major was needed. A new fuel pump, an adjustment of the radiator and fan, new distributor cap and points, cleaning the carburetor and adjusting the timing got it running smoothly. My wife loves riding in it almost as much as I do, but neither of us loves it as much as our dog Sadie. A ride in the jeep means wind blowing through her ears, exciting new scents, unbeatable scenery, and of course a hiking adventure wherever the jeep takes her. This jeep has been a blast for all three of us and we look forward to many more exciting jeep trips to come.

It is a beauty for sure. I love the original tires. Are those still available?
