Peter Suttor's 1947 Willys CJ-2A

308: Peter Suttor’s 1947 Willys CJ-2A

This is my 1947 CJ-2A which was exported to Australia in late 1947, my father brought it in early 1948. He had it on his farm till 1956, when he sold it to a friend. I found it again in 1994 and brought it back, and fully restored it in 2012-13. It still has all the matching numbers with the original engine block. The engine number is N830140P and the vin number is CJ2A148330. I don’t think there where many CJ-2A’s exported to Australia. I can’t find out how many where. As you see it’s all back to original.

  1. Peter, Very nice job, have a 46 that I’ve had since 75, when it was sold new to a fellow who moved to New York State, My friend had a dealership, two gas pumps and little shop and only two or three Jeeps for sale. I got it from him after I saw the grandson hot rodding it by his shop. $400. Now it time to make it look like yours, every thing on it is original and there with hardly no rust at all. Keep you eyes open for it here some day. Reason yours cough my eye is the colors are the same . Any more pics, like engine or before you started.

    Regards, Douglas
