Q: This kit comes with the 9 and 10 leaf springs. Mine only has the 5 & 7. What is the benefit of the larger spring packs? Is this kit offered with the smaller packs also?
- A: We can do it with that leaf count if you like. Please call us toll free.
Q: Will this kit cover the 1966 CJ-5 with the Buick V-6 in it, also?
- A: Yes this should work just fine.
Q: How much do these parts weigh?
- A: The leaf springs are approx 35 pounds each and then there is another box with the hard parts that weights approx 30 pounds.
Q: How much is shipping for this complete suspension overhaul kit for the 59-65 CJ-5?
- A: If you are in the 48 states it is free shipping.
Q: Is there a benefit between the 9 and 10 leaf and the 5 and 7 leaf. Does it raise up the vehicle or stiffer ride?
- A: It really just depends if you want to do towing. They give the same height.
Q: Will this kit work for a 68 CJ-5?
- A: Yes it will work perfect.
Q: Someone told me I could mount the leaf springs on top of the axles as an easy way to lift the jeep, is this ok?
- A: You could but it is dangerous to do a spring over in my opinion.
Q: Will this kit fit a cj5 1971?
- A: Yes it will work perfectly for you.
Q: You say this should cover the 66 CJ-5. Is there bigger u bolts to go over the axle outer pigs.
- A: Yes, it will fit all the way thur 1971
Q: Is this the correct kit for the ’57 FC150 (7 leaf in front, 9 leaf in rear)?
- A: Yes it shold be proper for your Willys FC-150

Q: I’m slowly trying to rebuild my fathers 66 V-6 CJ-5. Do your replacement springs fit the V-6? I have some I bought several years ago from a different source and they’re to short. My front mounting holes are 38 1/2″ apart and the rears are 34 1/2.
- A: This is the proper kit for a 1966-71 CJ-5 as well.
Q: Who manufactures your parts for the Overhaul kits?
- A: The components are primarily made up of Outland Automotive and Crown Automotive.
Q: I am restoring a 1960 CJ-5, the existing shackles are not open ended like the ones pictured and one of my U bolts is wider than the rest due to the front axle being wider on the drivers side. Will this kit work for my jeep?
- A: The CJ-5 used closed end shackles and that is what is provided in the kits. This will be correct for all the years 1955-65.
Q: I have a 1965 CJ6 longer wheel base will this set work?
- A: The CJ-6 used the same suspension as the CJ-5. The leaf springs and all the hardware is the same.
Q: Do I need to get the rubber bushings with your shackle kits?
- A: No, the shackles come complete.
Q: Can this kit be used on a 73 CJ-5?
- A: Please call us toll free. We can work a kit up for you.
Q: What is the dimension of the springs from eye to eye?
- A: 39″ eye to eye in the front and 46-1/8″ eye to eye in the rear like original.
Q: I’m guessing this 10 & 9 Spring set up would work great on my 62 with a steel Meyers hardtop?
- A: Yes this is the proper kit for a 1962 CJ-5.
Q: I have a 67 Jeepster 4wd base model. Will this kit work for my car?
- A: The Jeepster C101 Commando is different. Please call us toll free and we can work it up for you.
Q: Are the bushings inside the leaf springs?
- A: The bushing are with the kit but not installed in leaf springs prior to shipping.
