This new steel body tub is manufactured using a seven-step metal preparation process, including: A 5 bath dip to totally eliminate rust, dirt and grease; a phosphate and acid rinse step to ensure corrosion resistance and proper adhesion of the primer; new primer formula and application method that is designed for smooth and even finish. Includes all major factory mounting locations, including channels for body mounting. Original thickness one-piece steel construction on body tub. All proper bracing with wooden inserts installed. Q: Does the M38 body kits include tool box lid, battery box and lid on cowl, glove box lid, and vent cover on windshield frame? If not, what is the additional cost of these items with the kit?
- A: Yes, that is correct. They are very complete.
Q: You have free shipping posted, is this available for shippments to Canada also? Halifax Nova Scotia is where I’am located.

Q: Does the M38 body kit include the grille, front bumper and rear bumperettes? Are the “hat channels” already installed?
- A: This is just for the items listed. We have new grilles if you need them. That channels are already installed and complete.
Q: I’m Colombian, I would like to buy this item, I want to know what is the cost of this with the cost of shipping to Colombia.
- A: We can ship these tubs out anywhere in the 48 states for FREE. I would recommend a US based freight forwarder to get it to Colombia.
Q: Is the tool box stamped JEEP?
- A: They never were orginally on this vehicle. The tool bin is there.
Q: Will this M38 body fit on a ’55 CJ-5 frame with F-head 4 cyclinder engine? If so, how much modification am I looking at doing? You work with what you have……….
- A: They have different wheel bases and lengths so there are some changes that would have to be made. It would be easier to put a M38A1 body on there because it is closer to a CJ-5. The M38 is more similar to a CJ-3A.
Q: It appears it has all of the top brackets and footman loops. is that correct?
- A: No, the top brackets and footman loops are separate.
Q: Do you have the M38 Grille?
- A: 673313 is our part number on our website.
Q: Do these new tubs have the same guage thickness as original?
- A: Yes they have the same gauge thickness.
Q: Now that I have torn my M38 down to the frame, sand blasted, primed and painted, its time to consider the new Replacement Body Tub kit. That I will buy from you in the near future, but I have to budget for the “other stuff” I will need to complete the job. What other parts will I need from you to complete the body installation? Do you have a specific list?

Q: Will this body fit a CJ-3B frame?
- A: If you have the original 4-134 F head engine on your CJ-3B you may want to stick with a CJ-3B tub and just paint it green. The M38 originally used the 4-134 L head engine.
Q: Does the M38 body kit come with the mounting kit?
- A: That is part number: 10599050
Q: Does this Kit come with the access panels/floor plates around the transmission/gear shift/starter button/throttle on the M38? Does the tub have the hole(s) where they should be?
- A: This has all the floor panels installed on it. You will have to drill your body mounting holes and toe board holes.
Q: I have a 1949 CJ3A, will this M38 tub kit fit on my frame? If so, does the tub have the pioneer kit brackets on the passenger side? (shovel and axe)
- A: The M38 will fit but there will be some extra work associated with it going on a CJ-3A frame. It will have the indentations for tool brackets.
Q: Am I limited to one kit that will fit my 1950 M38 chassis?
- A: The M38 only used only one body style. If you have a M38 this is the kit.

I have a serial#’s matching 1950 M38, but what is odd is that it does not have the tool indentations on the passenger side of the body – is that possible?
