My Willys has a Ford 302 under the hood. Combined with an overdrive it enhances the MPH! Every adaption leads to another as that enhanced MPH results in sounds of warp speed from the original drive train gear ratio. The Peterbilt style exhausts are another adaption. I enjoy making the modifications. Makes for fun conversation with other Willys enthusiasts. I drive it almost daily and always get a couple of compliments. I can tell when some guy wants to talk Willys. 95% of the time they open with “What year is it?” Sometimes I just speak first and simply say Sixty Two. It always makes for a grin and an extended conversation. Thinking next I’d like to install a Chicano bouncing hydraulics system….HooWa!
