I started a restoration in 2014 with the original owner who purchased the 48 CJ-2A new in 1948. Over a few years of assistance the gentleman was aging and passed away in 2019. The Willys CJ-2A was passed onto me about 3 days before he passed, with the understanding that I would complete the project and enjoy it. It was also requested that I do not sell it and that I had to use it – “Get It Muddy and Scratch It a Little Bit!!”

  1. Being the 2nd owner of a 78 year old Jeep is an honor. Don’t ever stop muddying it and scratching it a little bit. Great story. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Bravo! Congratulations on a job excellently done! I am 81 and drive a 1946 CJ-2A that my parents bought new and I was always told I was with them at the time. My Dear Mama taught me to drive in it and I taught my son and Jeep is totally stock! Still 6 Volts and all that. We had a home made top that I have removed and Jeep is only driven in nice weather but it still does some work around the neighborhood and we just pulled some shrubs for a neighbor last week.
I need to send my photos in while I still can as it appears I’m in the “checkout lane” regarding my health. Again, congrats on the dignity you have given your Jeep, which is certainly a legend! Joe Stokes
