~ Sent to us by Gary Baker

I purchased this truck from an older lady who had kept it in storage for over eight years. Her husband had always wanted a truck like this as a retirement hobby, so he found this old truck, stripped it down, had bodywork and paint done, and brought it home to work on. Unfortunately, he had an accident and passed away before he could finish it. I bought the truck with the agreement from his wife to complete it and drive, show, and enjoy it, as that was her husband’s wish. I’ve owned the truck for three years and have finally been able to finish it and get it on the road, taking it to car and Jeep shows, and enjoying driving it as per her wishes.

Looking for, Willys Jeep Parts, Willys Jeep replacement parts, Willys Jeep body parts and much more for your 1941-1971 Willys vehicle, you have come to the right place!

I’m the kind of guy who likes to see them restored to original condition. But damn that’s a nice truck! I’m jealous Gary.
Just Beautiful! Your rendition is awesome, shows it can be faithful to the original and be better with modest and tasteful updating to the original design.
More of a question; are you certain that this is a 1951 model? I ask because it looks more like a 1961 model.
I used to have a 4WD shop and sold new, after market hard Jeep parts in Alaska. We got several Oregon Forest Service surplus wagons that were 1961 and 1962; this P/U looks similar.
Features appear to modern for 1951. I believe those were more flat hooded similar to a CJ-2A/3A. Also I don’t recall the 1951 having the hood chrome on the nose.
I could be mistaken but……………….
Very nice, awesome truck !
