This 1946 Willys CJ-2A was my 16th birthday present. My dad bought it from a guy who had left it sitting in a field to rust away after the motor froze. We worked on it for 4 years restoring it on a highschoolers budget.
Since then, (I’m 34 now) I’ve updated a few things and redid a few things now that I know better but it’s still got the original power train in it. I converted it over to a 12 volt electrical system with an alternator our of a 87 Chevy van. Other than that, it’s mechanically original, just rebuilt. The inside of the tub is Line-x. I have many Jeeps but this one is my all time favorite.

Also, where do you live, it looks like a great place for Jeep adventures. So many places have ruined it for Jeeps, closing the wonderful old places, making it so you have to hike 20 miles to go now! I am 81, it ruined my life for Jeep adventures.
And the saps wonder why there are suicides!

I was shocked to see the picture of this 47 cj2a, I restored a47 cja2 and it is the same color and has the original drive train updated to a 12 volt.system,it was great to see the picture,

I have a 48cj2a that sounds a lot like yours. It’s 12 volted and rest is original (except for a new fuel pump) . The original color was Normandy Blue which peeks through the other 13 colors. Willy makes me smile every time I drive it. Keep smiling and tinkering and Jeepin’.
