This finally finished Black Back Woods Buggy is a 1946 WillysCJ-2A. It was a compilation of three CJ-2A’s starting in 1995 (Pic of White Rat barn side ornament) which gave up its rancho springs, grill, tailgate, 12v alternator, starter, wiring harness, and bottom end of the motor [crank and rods – good block, though at 40 thousandth’s over, got sold for someone else’s build] also the VIN nameplate. Enjoyed for many years.

Second ’46 grey donor gave up its “running Mill” (driven home with no brakes on a milk jug of fuel) for a HFD fire-red ’47 CJ-2A (came with the 2cyl Wisconsin Pumper) with a stuck crank that supplied many more years of service and firewood around the woods. Still running on my friends farm... the ’47 motor was a later Kaiser motor – it also supplied the metal half cab & windshield, horsehair cushion seats & top end of the engine block [motor 20 thousandth’s over] to include original pistons and rings – hence we fog for bugs simultaneously! The second ’46 was the best frame and body tub that was a good friends restoration project not finished…

We used the transmission housing and the best of all gears and added the rear power take off lever, jacked up suspension required a sliver or two to align the driveshaft with the rear differential.

It even had a decent exhaust system! Brakes all rebuilt and lights all work, the wiring for the heater is tricky…

Kaiser Willys supplied every thing I needed every time we asked ???? so 27 years and three dogs was a “Jeepin’ Good Time” had by us all …
