At the moment I have five running Jeeps with several that need to be restored. I was in a Boy Scout camp in the 60s, they had two military Jeeps that I fell in love with. In the 80s I was able to purchase those two Jeeps from a town that was using them as service vehicles. I found the Jeeps advertised as military style Jeeps and I asked the town manager where he got them and they said that they came from the Boy Scout camp in New Hampshire. They were the same ones that I fell in love with when I was a kid. In 1972 I picked up a flat fender 1947 CJ-2A for 25$. I had the engine rebuilt and the craze began. My family bought some land in New Hampshire and my father used it on 40 acres to cut and haul fire wood. I sold one of the M38A1s to a friend and we restored his and I restored the other one to almost original condition except for a 12 V system. Over time I was able to get some in various conditions of repair and got them running, they are still being used on 40 acres.

The Navy jeep is cool. The windshield is a M-38, except for the windshield divider. The telltail is the shovel notch on the passenger side. What does the fuel tank filler neck look like? Small like a CJ or larger, about 4″ like the M38. The previous owners did a great job in keeping it Willys. Lucky you. Enjoy them all.
