This 1955 Willys Wagon restoration is a dream come true for me. I Bought this Willys Wagon right out of high school in 1973. We all understand the attraction to these vehicles, which I still have to this day. It had already had a V8 installed connected to the original running gear, which we all know is not the way to go. I made some changes to the axles and transmission, but it was never a driver. Kids came along and it sat in my garage until four years ago when the restoration / modification work resumed. I tried to maintain the original appearance and installed a 2016 5.7 Hemi and transmission. I hope the photos represent the true admiration I have for this vehicle and the quality of the many modifications done in the last four years. It truly has all the comforts of a new car and drives like one as well.

  1. That is a beautiful resto-mod and owning a 55 also, I am half out of my mind at the excellent craftsmanship in this wagon. I hwe don’t have enough upholstery shops, and the ilk, to produce “such a beauty!” in my neighborhood. Sweet Indeed!

  3. I’m working on a 51 wagon in which I’m putting a Mercedes Benz Diesel with a ranger overdrive and four speed and 44 front end and a 60 rear end and I’m boxing the frame and adding locker axles to the build. I hope to have it on the road by the end of the year.
