Jeff Harrington's 1946 Willys CJ-2A

082: Jeff Harrington’s 1946 Willys CJ-2A

This Willys was built entirely by myself with help from a few friends. I was blessed with the birth of my daughter a year into the build, so I have had several periods of time where NOTHING happened! I custom-made several pieces and had a great time building it!!Jeff Harrington's 1946 Willys CJ-2A
When originally purchased, it LOOKED nice, but it was a mess. 18ga red wire connecting everything, painted with a brush, and riveted panels under thick bondo.

I wanted to keep the body looking factory, so I welded in panels and painted the CJ2a OD green. The undercarriage is satin black. Lots of aluminum and stainless steel. Sounds great too!
Modified a little.

*Chevy 350- Mild Port/Polish, Edel Performer, Edel 600CFM manual choke, Crane high lift cam, CSR Electric water pump, Pete Jackson gear drive, billet HEI, Taylor 10mm race wires, fabricated valve covers, Ceramic block huggers w/wrapped 2.5″ custom exh/Thrush Welded Mufflers, 3″ dumps …probably more
*TH350- Shift kit, B&M 3500 stall conv., alum. pan, alum. canister cooler, Royal Purple
*Dana 300- w/deeper Dana 18 pan, Royal Purple
*Rear mounted aluminum dual pass radiator, aluminum transfer tubes, silicone elbows, twin fans
*Approx. 3-4″ spring over lift, front shackle reversal on 1986 CJ front/rear axles. 4.56 gears, bam-bar anti-wrap, Rancho RS7000’s.
*39.5x18x15 Super Swamper Boggers on 15×12 Black simu-beadlocks
*Rollcage, Equus gauges, Poly gas tank, Fram racing fuel filter, Rhino-lined tub, Bilstein steering stab., G-Force harness, Jegs racing seats, quick release steering hub, Grant wheel, LED lamps
*Almost all stainless steel nuts/bolts, Stainless steel braided lines
*I know I am forgetting lots of parts and custom mods.

Hope you like it!

  1. Hi Jeff, The Jeep looks very sharp! What kind of use do you give it? Can it cruise down the freeway also, or is it mostly off-road and around town? Thanks, Ralph
