Looking for, Willys Jeep Parts, Willys Jeep replacement parts, Willys Jeep body parts and much more for your 1941-1971 Willys vehicle, you have come to the right place!
Hi Seyit – You have crafted a great utility jeep! Where in the World are you located? Jeff
I commend your faithful life with your Jeep. The Jeep has always been one of the faithful vehicles that has impacted my life as well. You sure were able to take most of the unfavorable features of a Jeep and adjust or improve until you had a friend to stick with for ever. I notice the swing pedals under the dash and that dates the cj5 as later model or you changed them for improved braking and clutching reasons. The added insulation sure helps with the cab noise and rattles that plague jeep owners. I salute you and your Willys.
Hi Dan Knapp.
The seat covers are not available in any stores.I made them myself.
Hi david F .
There are not many hoses to route in the engine compartment.Only the radiator hoses, heater hoses, fuel line and the vacuum line of the windshield wipers.
Very nice jeep.
I have a 1969 CJ5 with the factory buick v6, T14, and spicer 18 transfer case.
I would like to add the seat covers like yours. Are they available from a store or did you make them?
Thank you,
Dan
The jeep looks great!..I have a 1959 CJ-5 I am working on. Would you mind sending me a picture of the engine compartment? I am trying to get everything put together i.e. hoses, but need a picture to guide me.
Thanks.
Dave
Thanks ,Randy Crowell.I designed the doors myself, and I don’t think they are available somewheres. The frame is almost the same of those soft doors but the cross section is square instead of round. The skin is 4mm composite, something like plywood with polyurethane board sandwitched between two thin aluminum skins on both sides. The upper halve is foldable while this upper sections additionaly have flip open inner frames. Both doors are easilly removable when lifted up,and go on the hood when the top is folded in the back.
Thank you,Glenn Saborosch.
Thank you,Mike d. I made the hood blanket and the front grill curtain myself as a winterization equipment.I have been seeing the similar ones on MB , M 170 and M 38A1 pictures. The hood blanket also serves to attach a snow shovel,a pick axe and some recovery rope.
Thank you,Gary Alverson. And good luck with your jeeps.
Thank you ,Dave Jones. This one has 1:4.27 axles.Although the transmission is T-98 with very low first gear, she cruises at quite a reasonable speed on highway without needing an over drive when shifted to fourth gear. Some more speed does not sound safe to me for this short wheel base vehicle.
Thanks for the suggestion, bob mitchell. To start a business for making tops I have to redesign my house and hire a hand. While I was making this one the room looked to be an upholstery shop and my wife deserted the house. On the other hand; a second hand is really needed because the material is indeed quite heavy.Once it becomes to get larger and heavier a second hand is needed to hold it in front of the sewing machine and walk syncronically with the machine.I pulled the table from the kitchen and placed it before the machine, but every now and then I had to stand up,pull the table this way or that way etc.
Thank you , John Rollin. My main approach is to keep it as it is,but equip it to the needs. In the mean time to up grade some details ,such as doors , to be more protective and practical for a daily driver in rain and snow, cold and hot weather.
Some other details such as stickers and data plates on the dash are of the sort that makes her look mean.( to my own thought)
Thanks for the kind comment,Thomas Runningen. And good luck with your work on the ’68.
Gene, thanks a lot for the idea, but this is my old faithful , and I have no intention to market it.And,yes; the F4 Hurricane has some muscle.Particularly this one matched with super crawler T-98 tranny.
Thank you,Mark Naughton.
I really love the CJ-5 and would really like to have a set of doors like that to run with my Softtop.
Who made them? Are they still available? That a great Design.
The ‘look’ of your Jeep is great! I love all the straps and buckles on the inside and out, you must be, or know an upholsterer. I also like all the added attractions on the dash.
Jeep on, Dude!
Love the jeep. We’re did you get the hood cover never Sean one curious what were they used for.
Good job on your jeep. I am restoring a 64 cj5 and having a ball. Prior to starting on it I had found a 57 Willies and bought it with the intentions of restoring it but it will have to wait. I drove it home and have a clear title if anyone in interested. Otherwise, it will become my 2nd project.
Dear Sir,
I like your CJ-5! my dad had a ’55 CJ-5, and it was 5:38 geared axles. He put an overdrive in it and it pulled a small tent trailer well. One of the better Jeeps made!
Dave Jones
OK. That is one boss jeep. Now consider making custom tops, covers, etc. I think you will get a lot of requests.
Mark N. says it all. The way you’ve customized your jeep shows an appreciation for them in their classic role. I love that you haven’t been slave to some “correct” rebuild scheme but have set it up just the way you want. Its cj5 design, your custom made top, your avoidance of popular add-ons like oversize tires or lifts or other such fashion following crap is great.
You have every right to be proud. You have done a great job, very innovative thinking. I love the overall eye appeal you’ve achieved. I have a “68” CJ5 Dauntless in the process. Need to rebuild the t86aa trans. yet.
You could go into business and market this vehicle. the 72 hp engine is plenty powerful for the intended use of CJ 5’s and M38A1’s.
Your jeep has a fantastic safari look!! this is the most practical and fully functional hard-working jeep that I have seen. I like the cold weather top and hood cover, the tool locations, and the clean look under the hood! That military gear fastened to the driver seat cover is a nice convenience too! I need one of these !
