263: Tony Hernandez’ 1969 CJ-5 Jeep
I found this one and a 1947 Willys CJ-2A in a field in Utah. I hauled them home to Southern California. The 69 was closer to being road ready so we started with it. We are about 95% done after a few thousand $$ for countless parts both readily available and some not so much. We will start on the 47 soon. We sure are learning a lot about the Jeep and it’s various manufacturers. I should note that my friend Joshua Bartram, has been the driving force for all of mechanical work on this project. He is an amazing mechanic with extensive knowledge. There is virtually nothing he can’t do with any vehicle. At the beginning, we both knew nothing about the Jeep products and the evolution over the years. In the process, he is becoming very knowledgeable about the history of these and continues to expand his automotive expertise. I am very fortunate and thankful that he is the point person for all things under the hood and beyond.
