My name is Hannah Jo, I am 20 yrs old from Minnesota. I am a very proud owner of a 1956 Willys Pickup Truck. The truck lived in a barn for many years and hauled leaves and lumber, before the original owner Raymond passed. Raymond then willed the truck to his grandson. His grandson sadly had the terrible idea to RAT ROD the truck! Luckily he didn’t get to far, he only removed the motor, transmission, transfer case, and axles. Leaving the motor and transmission, transfer case in the bed of the truck with no oil. Putting the axles under the leaf spring to give it a 4 inch lift, and extended the drag link and put on those awful mud tires. After the grandson gave up on the truck, it sat under a white tarp for 3 years. In the fall of 2014 I found this gem, just waiting to be saved. I bought it and hauled it home a.s.a.p., and took my mother’s MBG spot in the garage for the winter. The Willys needed some cleaning and mechanical work. Not long after my father and I began restoring the pickup, and putting it back to stock. I am the third owner of this truck and the first out of the original family. The motor and transmission have not been re-done, all parts are original. It took about 6 months to put it back from the damage done, but has been well worth it. I am a very proud owner and I LOVE TO DRIVE IT, and SHOW IT OFF!
